Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP)

About the role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) will manage post‑contract commercial control for assigned mechanical and electrical projects, safeguarding cash flow and margin through accurate measurement, valuation and variation management. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, construction and contracts teams to protect commercial entitlement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and verify detailed quantity take‑offs and measurement of completed MEP works in line with contract specifications.
• Prepare monthly interim payment applications, supporting measurement, material records and commercial substantiation.
• Identify and maintain an auditable register of changes arising from instructions, revised drawings, RFIs and site conditions.
• Prepare, price and substantiate variations and claims, and participate in negotiations.
• Manage subcontractor measurement, interim valuations, change orders, back‑charges and final accounts.
• Produce project cost reports, committed‑cost analysis, forecasts and margin updates for management.
• Review supplier/subcontractor quotations and support procurement negotiations.
• Maintain commercial records for claims, audits and final‑account settlement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant quantity surveying/commercial experience, preferably in UAE/GCC MEP contracting.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC or bespoke contracts and entitlement principles.
• Professional chartership (RICS/MRICS) or progress toward it is preferred.
