Senior Radiation Protection Technologist

About the role

The Senior Radiation Protection Technologist will lead and execute radiation protection activities in accordance with regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and nuclear safety standards. This position ensures safe operations, environmental protection, and compliance across all radiologically controlled areas.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, lead and monitor radiation protection programmes, ensuring alignment with regulatory and corporate standards.
• Control access to Radiologically Controlled Areas, contaminated zones and high‑radiation zones.
• Validate and issue Radiation Work Permits, and conduct radiation surveys for personnel, equipment and the environment.
• Manage and maintain personal radiation protection equipment, dosimetry devices, and portable radiation instruments.
• Oversee hazardous material handling and contamination control within controlled areas.
• Monitor personal contamination, perform decontamination, and coordinate emergency response actions.
• Provide guidance and training to UAE national staff, supporting Emiratization and knowledge sharing.
• Promote continuous improvement, quality management compliance and adherence to Nawah Fundamentals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in radiation protection or health physics within nuclear or industrial settings.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and nuclear safety standards.
• Ability to lead shift teams, manage emergencies and mentor junior staff.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and quality management systems.
