Senior Radiotherapy Medical Physicist

About the role

Black Pearl Consult is hiring an experienced Senior Medical Physicist specializing in radiotherapy in the UAE, providing technical leadership across radiation oncology and therapeutic services. The role suits a senior professional with substantial experience in radiotherapy, dosimetry, treatment planning, radiation safety, quality assurance and the commissioning of radiotherapy systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior medical physics expertise across radiation oncology and radiotherapy services.
• Lead and take part in commissioning and acceptance testing of radiotherapy equipment and treatment systems, including LINACs, treatment planning systems and brachytherapy systems.
• Develop commissioning protocols, perform baseline measurements and establish reference data before clinical use.
• Perform and supervise dosimetry, treatment-plan verification and equipment performance assessments.
• Establish and maintain radiotherapy quality assurance and quality control programs, and evaluate treatment delivery systems against technical and clinical standards.
• Support installation, upgrades and implementation of new technologies, working with oncologists, technologists, engineers and vendors.
• Support radiation protection, patient safety and regulatory compliance, investigate technical issues and prepare commissioning reports, QA documentation and technical procedures.
• Mentor medical physics and radiotherapy teams and contribute to service development and new treatment techniques.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Physics, Medical Physics or a related discipline.
• Significant clinical experience in radiotherapy medical physics.
• Proven hands-on experience commissioning and accepting radiotherapy equipment and systems.
• Strong experience with dosimetry and treatment planning; practical experience with LINACs, treatment planning systems or brachytherapy.
• Experience establishing and maintaining radiotherapy QA programs and working with vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Previous senior, supervisory or lead-level experience is advantageous.
