Senior Range Controller Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Specialist to act as the central operational hub within the Xrange Control Room in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures safe, efficient and compliant execution of air, land and sea activities across the range, supporting critical decision‑making and emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Xrange Control Room as the coordination centre.
• Monitor runway, taxiway, apron, airfield and range activity status.
• Manage aircraft parking, towing, runway access, inspections and FOD control.
• Oversee ground handling, vehicle movements, closures, safety compliance and weather monitoring.
• Coordinate training events, testing activities and stakeholder communications.
• Identify and resolve operational disruptions promptly.
• Serve as primary contact during emergencies and coordinate safety, medical, security and fire response.
• Support incident reporting, Hot‑Wash‑Ups, After‑Action Reviews and emergency procedure development.
• De‑conflict all range activities and manage activation of land, sea and air danger areas.
• Handle NOTAM requests, MOD approvals and liaison with military and regulatory authorities.
• Meet client requirements, attend operational meetings and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or recognised UAE military education.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in UAE Armed Forces, MOD, aviation operations, control rooms or range operations.
• Strong understanding of command‑and‑control principles, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and activities simultaneously.
• Fluent Arabic speaker with excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Leadership, organisational and stakeholder‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with radio communication systems and multi‑channel communication tools.
