Senior Real Estate Auditor – Audit & Assurance

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Real Estate Developer Auditor to join our audit team in Abu Dhabi. As a Senior in Audit & Assurance, you will lead comprehensive audits of real‑estate development companies, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute audits of real estate developers, including financial statement audits, internal control assessments and compliance reviews.
• Evaluate the accuracy and completeness of financial records related to land acquisition, construction costs, revenue recognition and asset valuation.
• Assess the appropriateness of accounting policies applied to real‑estate projects, such as cost capitalization, impairment testing and fair‑value measurement.
• Review contracts, joint ventures, lease agreements and other legal documents to identify audit risks and ensure compliance.
• Identify and evaluate risks of material misstatement, including fraud risks, and design audit procedures to address them.
• Prepare clear, concise audit reports detailing findings, recommendations and areas for improvement.
• Liaise with client management, project managers and other stakeholders to discuss audit issues and facilitate resolution.
• Utilise audit software and data‑analytics tools to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of audit experience, focusing on real‑estate development or construction, preferably with a Big Four audit firm.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards relevant to real estate (IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IAS 40, etc.).
• Familiarity with real‑estate development processes, contracts and regulatory environment.
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking, writing); bilingual Arabic/English is a plus.

Required skills

• Audit software (e.g., Deloitte’s proprietary tools).
• Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Data‑analytics tools for audit testing.
