Senior Resident Engineer – Large Roads Project

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Resident Engineer for a large roads project in Dubai. The Resident Engineer will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient execution of staking, testing, and inspection activities, guaranteeing that construction conforms to the approved plans and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor client program progress and ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Inspect all workmanship and materials, coordinating vertical and horizontal controls.
• Review and approve shop drawings and final material submittals.
• Manage soil and material testing, variation orders, and change orders.
• Prepare monthly progress reports, safety monitoring reports, and cost recommendations.
• Certify progress payments and evaluate requests for additional compensation or time extensions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, focusing on large‑scale roads, bridges, and underpasses.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, quality‑control processes, and infrastructure development.
• Excellent project management, budgeting, and schedule‑control abilities.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Dubai and travel as required.
