Senior Resident Engineer – Metro & Rail Projects

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Senior Resident Engineer to lead the delivery of a large metro and rail infrastructure programme in Dubai. The role oversees all enabling works, ensures compliance with design specifications, and coordinates multidisciplinary teams to keep the project on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall delivery of assigned infrastructure packages, monitoring time, cost, quality, safety and sustainability targets.
• Review and approve contractor method statements, ITPs, shop drawings and material submittals.
• Supervise site clearance, demolition, excavation, grading, temporary works and utility protection.
• Coordinate with utility authorities, traffic management teams and other stakeholders for service diversions and road closures.
• Conduct regular site inspections, issue observation reports, NCRs and verify testing and inspections for enabling works.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, approvals, as‑built drawings and handover documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in large‑scale infrastructure engineering, including roads, bridges, underpasses, metro and rail projects.
• Previous experience with RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) projects is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder interfaces.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Dubai and travel as required.
