Senior Resident Engineer - Site

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm operating in 100 countries, is looking for a Senior Resident Engineer to join its building construction management team in Dubai. You will oversee and manage all on-site engineering activities for large-scale construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate on-site engineering activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards and safety regulations
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and keep project timelines
• Review and approve construction methodologies, work plans and technical submittals
• Carry out regular site inspections and quality control checks against design specifications and local building codes
• Mentor and manage junior engineers and technical staff on site
• Prepare detailed progress reports, identify risks and propose mitigation strategies
• Liaise with local authorities and regulators to obtain permits and approvals
• Implement and maintain safety protocols and optimise construction processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• At least 10 years as a Resident Engineer or Senior Resident Engineer focused on high-rise projects, with a minimum of 20 years of total experience
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or equivalent
• Proven contract management and oversight practice; PMP certification preferred
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction methodologies, quality control and safety regulations
• AutoCAD or similar design software and Microsoft Office Suite
• In-depth understanding of Abu Dhabi building codes and UAE construction standards
• Leadership, communication and analytical skills, ability to work under pressure
