Senior Resident Engineer – Stormwater & Irrigation

About the role

The Senior Resident Engineer will lead construction supervision and contract administration for major stormwater drainage, irrigation and pumping station projects, ensuring delivery to the highest quality, safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead construction supervision of stormwater drainage, irrigation, pumping stations and related infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, quality standards and HSE regulations.
• Monitor progress, contractor performance and schedule adherence.
• Review and approve contractor submissions such as shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and inspection requests.
• Administer the construction contract, handling variations, claims, payment applications and extensions of time.
• Coordinate with client, contractors, utility authorities and other stakeholders to resolve technical and contractual issues.
• Lead site meetings, inspections, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Implement QA/QC procedures and resolve non‑conformances.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred); professional engineer registration and PMP certification advantageous.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in infrastructure projects and at least 10 years as a Resident Engineer or Senior Resident Engineer.
• Proven experience with stormwater drainage, irrigation networks, pumping stations and related civil works.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and construction supervision.
• Experience in the UAE/GCC region and coordination with local authorities such as Dubai Municipality, RTA, DEWA.
