Senior Safety Officer

About the role

Shafar Contracting is looking for an experienced Senior Safety Officer to lead safety management on its high‑rise construction projects in Dubai. The role ensures that all site activities comply with Dubai HSE regulations and that a safe working environment is maintained for all personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and risk assessments, implementing appropriate hazard control measures.
• Monitor high‑risk high‑rise construction activities and enforce compliance with Dubai safety codes.
• Lead safety inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing safety awareness programmes.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and prepare detailed incident reports.
• Perform regular HSE audits, maintain safety documentation and liaise with project teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related field.
• NEBOSH and/or IOSH certification preferred.
• Proven hands‑on HSE experience on high‑rise building projects in the UAE, preferably with Dubai main contractors.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE/Dubai HSE laws and construction safety management systems.
