Senior Service Engineer – Automation, PLC/SCADA & Water Solutions

About the role

Siemens Digital Industries seeks a Senior Service Engineer to provide hands‑on technical service and lifecycle support for Siemens automation systems across the UAE and, when required, the wider GCC, Middle East and EMEA region. The role focuses on maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning and upgrades of PLC, HMI and SCADA solutions, primarily for water and wastewater applications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and breakdown support for Siemens PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
• Diagnose hardware/software faults, support SIMATIC S7 series, STEP 7, TIA Portal, WinCC and Comfort Panels.
• Execute commissioning, recommissioning, functional testing, software modifications and system recovery.
• Manage lifecycle upgrades, migrations and backup/restore activities across UAE and GCC sites.
• Provide technical reports and coordinate with customers, internal teams and OEMs.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Siemens PLC, HMI and SCADA in water and wastewater environments.
• Ability to work independently on site, travel extensively within UAE and GCC, and hold a valid UAE driving licence.
• Strong troubleshooting methodology for hardware, software, communications and instrumentation.
• Experience supporting utilities or large industrial water facilities.

• SIMATIC S7‑300/400/1200/1500, STEP 7, TIA Portal.
• WinCC, Siemens HMI/Comfort Panels.
• PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Industrial Ethernet, Modbus, OPC/OPC UA.
• PLC hardware/software diagnostics, backup and restoration.
• Basic process instrumentation (flow, pressure, level, temperature) – e.g., Siemens SITRANS MAG.
