Senior Service Engineer - Server Support

About the role

Supermicro is looking for an experienced, technically skilled Senior Service Engineer to join its Global Service Team. The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and covers post-sales support, including field-based troubleshooting, maintenance and system repairs at customer sites. The ideal candidate has a strong background in server and enterprise hardware support, excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to lead service excellence across global customer engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced on-site and remote diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair of Supermicro servers and systems
• Lead preventive maintenance and ensure adherence to SLAs and repair cycle times
• Act as escalation point for complex technical issues
• Provide Level 3 support to channel partners, including resellers and distributors
• Support enterprise solutions such as GPU systems, networking, firmware/BIOS and cable management
• Collaborate with TAMs, Service Managers and Product Managers to develop service programs
• Train new service engineers and customers on hardware and support procedures
• Run lab-based simulations and tests to replicate and resolve field issues
• Manage service tickets through the Service Portal, document fault triage, build knowledge base content and present technical reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field; equivalent experience or military background also considered
• 5+ years supporting and maintaining complex server, storage and networking environments
• Proven field experience in break/fix support with a focus on customer interaction
• Ability to speak and write English and Arabic
• Flexibility for shift work, weekends and holidays
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of GPU platforms, BIOS/UEFI, SAS/iSCSI, Layer 3 switches, routers and firmware
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux; basic Linux navigation required
• Proficiency with BMC tools such as SMC IPMI CFG and SUM (or iLO/iDRAC)
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, time management and multitasking skills
