Senior Software Engineer – Java FullStack – Platform Services

About the role

At Emirates, the Senior Software Engineer – Java FullStack – Platform Services will join an agile feature team to design, develop, implement and maintain software solutions that support the Emirates Group business.

Key responsibilities

• Work with senior technical engineers in the technical design process, analysing application requirements.
• Convert technical solutions into low‑level design and production code following approved coding standards.
• Write secure, optimized code and ensure 100 % unit testing within the CI/CD pipeline.
• Participate in on‑call support, resolve production issues within SLAs and fix defects with minimal rework.
• Implement logging, monitoring hooks and adopt refactoring practices to minimise code debt.
• Stay current with relevant technologies and contribute to engineering playbooks and standards.

Required profile

• Degree (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Java full‑stack development.
• Experience providing production support using the ITIL framework.

Required skills

• Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful API, SOAP, Microservices, Design Patterns, API‑First approach.
• Front‑end: React.js, Angular.js.
• Databases: Oracle, MariaDB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Couchbase, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, GraphQL.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
• DevOps tools: GitLab, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Splunk, JIRA, Confluence, Spinnaker.
• Build tools: Maven, Gradle.
• Quality tools: SonarQube.
