Senior Solution Architect – Security & Cloud Architecture (Banking)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect with deep expertise in enterprise solution, security, and cloud‑native architectures to lead large‑scale digital transformation initiatives for a banking client.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver end‑to‑end enterprise solution architectures aligned with business objectives and EA standards.
• Develop and maintain architecture standards, governance frameworks, reference architectures, and design principles.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, delivery teams and technology leaders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Produce high‑level and low‑level designs, architecture diagrams and technical documentation.
• Work closely with Information Security teams to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of banking data.
• Design secure network architectures, including LAN/WAN, SD‑WAN, data‑center and cloud networking, and implement security controls such as firewalls, VPN, ZTNA and NAC.
• Support Agile delivery teams with architectural guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor solution architects, engineers and technical teams on best practices and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• 10+ years of solution architecture experience in enterprise environments.
• 5+ years designing enterprise web, mobile, API and micro‑service solutions.
• 5+ years working with cloud‑native technologies and platforms.
• 3+ years of cyber/information security experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to make architecture decisions with minimal supervision and mentor others.

Required skills

• Enterprise & Solution Architecture, Microservices, REST APIs, Event‑driven architectures.
• Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Red Hat OpenShift.
• Container orchestration: Kubernetes, OpenShift, Service Mesh, Virtualization.
• Security frameworks: ISO 27001, NIST, PCI‑DSS, OWASP Top 10, Zero Trust Architecture.
• Network security: Firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, NAC, WAF, ZTNA, Network Segmentation, Load Balancing.
• Architecture tools: Enterprise Architect, data‑modelling and governance repositories.
