Senior Specialist – Antiquities Collection Storage

About the role

The Senior Specialist will lead the management, preservation and storage of archaeological artifacts for a government‑backed initiative in the United Arab Emirates. You will be responsible for developing policies, overseeing operational plans, and ensuring that storage facilities meet the highest professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor the annual operational plan, including performance indicators, targets, projects and budget requirements.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve policies, methodologies and processes for artifact storage and preservation.
• Draft and execute the strategic plan for storage facilities, aligning operational activities with departmental objectives.
• Manage relationships with internal and external partners to guarantee service delivery according to best practices.
• Oversee artifact entry, classification, data updates and ensure impartial documentation.
• Supervise preventive conservation programs, pest control, environmental monitoring and security surveillance systems.
• Lead the annual inventory, reconcile records and produce comprehensive reports.
• Design and implement risk‑management and emergency‑procedure programs for storage environments, including heating, ventilation and heritage building constraints.
• Conduct studies to propose new professional standards in environmental monitoring, pest control, security and risk mitigation.
• Inspect storage facilities, address corrective actions and report on operational performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 72 months (6 years) of experience in artifact preservation, storage management or a related heritage field.
• Proven ability to develop policies, strategic plans and operational budgets.
• Strong analytical skills for performance‑indicator monitoring and reporting.
• Experience collaborating with governmental and external cultural institutions.
