Senior Specialist – Range Controller

About the role

The Senior Specialist – Range Controller will serve as the central operational hub within the Xrange Control Room, coordinating air, land and sea activities across the range. The role ensures safe, efficient and compliant execution of all operations while supporting critical decision‑making and emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Xrange Control Room as the primary coordination centre.
• Monitor runway, taxiway, apron, airfield and range activity status.
• Manage aircraft parking, towing, runway access, inspections and FOD control.
• Oversee ground handling, vehicle movements, closures, safety compliance and weather monitoring.
• Coordinate training events, testing activities and stakeholder communications.
• Identify and resolve operational disruptions promptly.
• Act as the primary point of contact during emergencies and coordinate safety, medical, security and fire response.
• Support incident reporting, Hot‑Wash‑Ups, After‑Action Reviews and emergency procedure development.
• De‑conflict all range activities and manage activation of land, sea and air danger areas.
• Handle NOTAM requests, MOD approvals and liaison with military and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain compliance with operational, safety, security and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or recognised UAE military education.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in UAE Armed Forces, MOD, aviation operations, control rooms, range operations or similar environments.
• Strong understanding of command‑and‑control principles, operational coordination and safety regulations.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage complex operational environments.
