Senior Specialist – Unmanned Systems

About the role

The Senior Specialist – Unmanned Systems will join EDGE’s advanced technology team in Abu Dhabi, supporting the design, testing, integration and operation of a range of unmanned platforms. You will work on UAS, UGV, USV and UUV systems, ensuring they meet mission requirements and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and assess operational requirements for unmanned systems and mission‑specific payloads.
• Develop, execute and evaluate test plans for platforms and integrated payloads.
• Lead sensor integration testing, validation and performance assessments.
• Plan, conduct and oversee operational trials, demonstrations, FAT and SAT.
• Support system design, architecture and technical evaluations for UAS, UGV, USV and UUV platforms.
• Create end‑user documentation, operating procedures, manuals and training materials.
• Deliver training programmes for operators and maintainers and provide technical recommendations for enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Avionics Engineering, Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in unmanned systems testing, integration, operations or engineering.
• Proven experience with design and architecture of UAS, UGV, USV and/or UUV platforms.
• Certified unmanned systems pilot/operator with knowledge of airframe certifications and regulatory compliance.
• Strong technical documentation, reporting and training delivery skills.
