Senior Speech-Language Therapist / Pathologist

About the role

The Senior Speech‑Language Therapist/Pathologist will deliver safe, evidence‑based assessment and treatment for patients with speech, language, cognitive, fluency, voice, swallowing and feeding disorders. The role also includes leading a team of speech‑language professionals to ensure high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, evidence‑based assessments using standardized tools and advanced techniques such as FEES, videostroboscopy, and electropalatography.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for pediatric and adult patients with complex communication and swallowing disorders.
• Provide specialist interventions including VitalStim therapy and nasometry as required.
• Supervise and coach junior speech‑language therapists, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and infection‑control standards.
• Manage equipment, monitor usage, and coordinate maintenance or replacement of faulty devices.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, report shortages, and approve replenishments.
• Participate in workload allocation, caseload prioritisation, and daily operational management.
• Lead projects related to new business cases, service development, accreditation, audits, and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Extensive clinical experience in speech‑language pathology with a focus on swallowing and communication disorders.
• Proven leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and clinical reasoning abilities for differential diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Commitment to infection‑control, safety, and regulatory compliance.
