Senior Structural Engineer – Formwork

About the role

The Senior Structural Engineer – Formwork will lead the engineering design, analysis and technical management of self‑climbing and crane‑supported formwork systems for high‑rise projects in Dubai. You will ensure all temporary works are safe, economical, buildable and compliant with international standards and company quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design self‑climbing, crane‑supported and proprietary formwork systems and produce detailed calculation reports.
• Develop structural models using STAAD Pro or equivalent and perform finite element analysis where required.
• Verify structural adequacy and stability of formwork solutions throughout construction stages.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, shop drawings and fabrication drawings for technical accuracy.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and consultants, attend technical meetings and respond to RFIs.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers and standardise engineering practices and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of structural/formwork engineering experience, preferably in high‑rise construction.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and ability to manage multiple projects.

Required skills

• Structural analysis and temporary works engineering.
• Experience with PERI, Doka or equivalent climbing formwork systems.
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, ACI, BS 5975, EN 12811, EN 12812 and other relevant codes.
• Finite element analysis, reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
