Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

Bureau Veritas is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer in Dubai, reporting to the BNI Manager / DR Team Leader. The engineer performs design reviews, technical audits and specialised studies on concrete, steel, composite, post-tension, high-rise, industrial and marine structures, within conformity assessment services such as design appraisal.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out design review, technical audits, expert studies and specialised studies, including foundation, soil excavation, precast/pre-stressed concrete, steel structures and façade systems
• Evaluate designs with Team Leader support using 2D/3D software, and prepare technical reports
• Attend meetings with clients and authorities, liaise with designers and project managers, and manage the design review phase when required
• Inspect civil works sites, check material submittals and method statements, and issue weekly and monthly reports
• Support commercial activities: tender technical aspects, scope of work, planning and cost structure
• Contribute to knowledge management, best practices and product development, and complete professional training and attend seminars

Required profile

• University degree in engineering or post-graduate degree
• Minimum 15 years of experience in structural engineering
• Experience in concrete and steel structures, foundations, seismic, wind and load analysis, and hand calculations
• Conversant with international codes (IBC, ACI, UBC, ASTM, AISC) and local circulars
• English technical reporting skills
• HSE compliance, including the right to stop unsafe work and PPE use
