Senior Structural Engineer (Site)

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead on‑site structural engineering activities in Abu Dhabi. You will be the technical authority ensuring quality, safety and compliance throughout all construction phases.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive structural inspections and quality‑control assessments across all construction stages.
• Analyze structural performance data and field conditions, providing technical recommendations.
• Prepare and review inspection reports, structural calculations and compliance certifications.
• Supervise and coordinate on‑site structural work, enforcing engineering specifications and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with design teams to evaluate design modifications and their structural implications.
• Manage material testing and verification to ensure components meet required standards.
• Lead site meetings and communicate technical findings to stakeholders, contractors and project teams.
• Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance.
• Maintain organized records of inspections, test results and project documentation.
• Ensure adherence to UAE building codes, regulations and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional structural engineering experience.
• Proven experience overseeing on‑site structural engineering operations.
• Ability to act as a technical authority and make critical project decisions.
• Experience collaborating with architects, contractors and project management teams.
• Familiarity with UAE building codes and local regulations.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
