Senior Supervisor, Mechanical

About the role

GCG Engineering Services, part of Ghobash Group, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Supervisor to lead HVAC mechanical construction activities across oil & gas, petrochemical and industrial projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supervising ductwork, chilled water piping, equipment installation and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all mechanical construction activities related to HVAC systems, including ductwork, chilled water piping, equipment installation, insulation and associated works.
• Lead Mechanical Supervisors, foremen, subcontractors and construction crews to achieve project objectives and maintain schedule.
• Review construction drawings, method statements, work procedures and project specifications before execution.
• Monitor work progress, productivity, manpower utilization and material availability to meet milestones.
• Ensure installations comply with codes, client requirements and approved IFC drawings.
• Coordinate inspections with QA/QC, manage permit‑to‑work systems and conduct safety toolbox talks.
• Identify construction issues, provide technical guidance and implement corrective actions.
• Support testing, pre‑commissioning, punch‑list clearance and mechanical completion activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical construction experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery or industrial projects.
• Supervisory or construction management training preferred; additional HSE certifications advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, chilled water piping, equipment installation, testing and commissioning support.
• Willingness to work in remote, offshore or desert environments.
