Senior System Administrator

About the role

The Senior System Administrator will design, manage, secure and optimise Al Etihad Payments' IT infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments. The role ensures high availability, performance, resilience and compliance of critical systems while acting as a technical escalation point.

Key responsibilities

• Lead administration of Windows servers, client machines and Azure services including Entra ID, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop and subscription management.
• Design, implement and maintain Conditional Access, MFA, SSO and Zero‑Trust policies to meet security and regulatory requirements.
• Manage Proxmox virtualization clusters and Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian), handling VM provisioning, patching, hardening and high‑availability configurations.
• Provide advanced support for Microsoft 365 and Teams, including call routing, voice policies and integration with Entra ID.
• Implement monitoring, performance dashboards, backup, restore and disaster‑recovery procedures, and drive system patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and SOPs while ensuring compliance with IT governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of system administration experience in mixed Windows/Linux environments.
• Relevant certifications: Microsoft AZ‑104, MD‑102, SC‑300, MS‑700, CompTIA Linux+ or RHCSA; Proxmox certification is a plus.

• Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, Zero‑Trust security design.
• Proxmox virtualization, Linux server management (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian).
• Scripting with PowerShell and Bash.
• Microsoft Teams administration and Microsoft 365 support.
• Monitoring tools, backup/DR processes and L3 incident handling.
