Senior Systems Engineer – Landing Gear

About the role

Senior Systems Engineer – Landing Gear will own the technical development of landing gear systems throughout the UAV lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through design, integration, verification and flight testing. The role works closely with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers to deliver safe, reliable and certifiable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define landing gear system requirements and architecture aligned with airframe and mission profiles.
• Lead integration of landing gear with structural, hydraulic, electrical and control systems, managing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic interfaces and maintaining Interface Control Documents.
• Conduct system‑level analyses, safety assessments (FHA, FMEA, PSSA) and support verification, validation and flight testing activities.
• Manage requirements traceability using DOORS and ensure compliance with aerospace and defence standards.
• Evaluate and monitor landing gear suppliers, overseeing technical deliverables, design reviews and lifecycle planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering with 10+ years of aerospace systems engineering experience, including 8+ years in landing gear design or integration.
• Proven experience in safety‑critical system design, requirement management, integration and verification for UAV or aircraft programs.
