Senior Technical Accountant (UAE National)

About the role

Mark Williams Recruitment is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant for a leading entity in Abu Dhabi. You will join a small finance team and report directly to the Finance Director, handling complex accounting engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support on technical accounting engagements such as acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, business combinations and other complex corporate transactions.
• Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures to ensure IFRS and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct accounting research, evaluate complex technical matters and develop clear recommendations for senior finance stakeholders.
• Develop detailed accounting papers, technical assessments and supporting documentation for senior review.
• Assist the business with new IFRS requirements and update accounting policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen finance processes, controls and reporting across the organisation and its subsidiaries.
• Collaborate with internal finance stakeholders and external auditors to resolve technical accounting queries.
• Build financial models and perform scenario, sensitivity and impact analysis for proposed transactions.
• Monitor changes to IFRS, regulatory requirements and emerging accounting practices.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CPA or CMA.
• Previous experience in a similar senior technical accounting role.
• Excellent presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of M&A accounting, financial reporting, consolidation and detailed transaction accounting.
• Experience working in a top‑10 professional practice.
