Senior Technical Engineer – Busbar

About the role

The Senior Technical Engineer will support Vertiv's Busbar product line by providing technical expertise to project teams and ensuring compliance with type‑tested designs and IEC standards. The role involves close collaboration with sales, estimation, engineering and project delivery functions across multiple plants.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales and project teams to translate customer requirements into technical solutions using existing type‑tested products.
• Review and validate mechanical engineering drawings before release to customers and production.
• Develop and release standardized engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs and wiring diagrams.
• Coordinate cross‑plant problem‑solving teams to improve project and engineering performance.
• Support plant‑to‑plant product transfers, new product development, and preparation of design calculations (DC load, power consumption, heat dissipation).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in a technical engineering role, preferably with low‑voltage switchgear design.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• CADD / AutoCAD
• SolidWorks & Revit (BIM & 3D drawing packages)
• PC working knowledge (IFS, MS Office, PDM system)
• Knowledge of IEC codes and standards
• Experience with wiring diagram preparation and BOM creation
