Senior Technical Engineer - Public Cloud

About the role

Emirates Group is seeking a Senior Technical Engineer to lead the design, development and delivery of secure, scalable public‑cloud solutions that support the airline’s digital transformation. You will join the Platform Engineering team, the core of the cloud‑modernisation journey, and work closely with architecture, security, network and DevOps teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement public‑cloud platforms that meet enterprise standards for availability, performance, security and cost optimisation.
• Act as the technical expert for cloud automation, workload onboarding and self‑service capabilities.
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, observability, governance and FinOps practices.
• Ensure solutions conform to corporate architecture standards and service‑level requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into robust cloud architectures.
• Support continuous improvement of hybrid‑cloud capabilities and evaluate emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience designing and operating public‑cloud solutions at enterprise scale.
• Strong understanding of automation, IaC, CI/CD, observability and FinOps.
• Ability to work closely with application, security, network and DevOps stakeholders.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a focus on delivering high‑quality, reliable services.

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
• CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.)
• FinOps and cost‑optimization practices
• Automation scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
