Senior Technical Engineer - Public Cloud

About the role

Emirates is looking for a Senior Technical Engineer to join its Platform Engineering team in Dubai. You will design, develop and deliver secure, scalable public‑cloud solutions that support the airline’s global operations and drive the cloud‑modernisation journey.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement public‑cloud platforms on AWS and Azure, ensuring security, resilience and cost optimisation.
• Drive automation through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and develop self‑service tooling for developers.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, network and DevOps teams to adopt CI/CD, observability and FinOps practices.
• Provide technical expertise for workload onboarding, incident resolution and change management.
• Produce high‑quality documentation, design artefacts and operational run‑books.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT engineering, with a focus on public‑cloud platforms.
• Proven ability to design solutions that meet availability, performance, security and reliability standards.

Required skills

• AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Terraform, Python, Bash/PowerShell for automation.
• Container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, AKS.
• Full‑stack development: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Node.js, REST APIs.
• DevOps tools: Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing.
• Monitoring, logging and observability solutions.
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
