Senior Technician - QC

About the role

EDGE Group’s Advanced Concepts division is seeking a Senior Technician to lead its Quality Control (QC) function. You will oversee the inspection of machined and fabricated components for high‑technology autonomous systems, ensuring compliance with strict aerospace and defense standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead QC activities for incoming, in‑process, and final inspections of all components.
• Supervise QC inspectors, enforce adherence to procedures, drawings, and customer specifications.
• Review and approve inspection reports, maintain traceability, and manage non‑conformance documentation.
• Coordinate with production, design, and planning teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure calibration of measuring instruments and manage CMM operations and inspection routines.
• Support internal and external audits, prepare quality documentation, and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain compliance with ISO/AS9100 or customer‑specific quality standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Quality Engineering, or equivalent.
• 6–8 years of QC experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality inspection tools.
• Experience documenting NCRs, CAPAs, and maintaining inspection records.
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO standards and internal audit processes.
• Background in precision manufacturing, aerospace, or defense sectors.

Required skills

• Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation.
• Micrometers, calipers, height gauges, comparators.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Inspection report preparation and traceability management.
• Non‑conformance reporting (NCR) and corrective‑action‑preventive‑action (CAPA) processes.
• ISO/AS9100 quality system standards.
