Senior Test Equipment Engineer – UAV Structural Testing

About the role

EDGE is seeking a Senior Test Equipment Engineer to lead structural testing of UAV platforms. You will be responsible for static, dynamic and fatigue testing, ensuring airframe performance, safety and durability while collaborating closely with design, integration and flight‑test teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan and execute structural tests, including test setup and equipment design for UAV components.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align test activities with project requirements.
• Investigate failures, perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Generate structural analysis reports and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in testing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in structural testing, preferably within aerospace, UAV or defence systems.

Required skills

• Knowledge of static, dynamic and fatigue testing and test‑setup design.
• Proficiency with test equipment such as load cells, strain gauges, test rigs and vibration testing systems.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software (ANSYS, NASTRAN, Abaqus).
• Experience with modal analysis tools (Simcenter Testlab) and CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Competence in data acquisition and analysis tools (LabVIEW, MATLAB).
