Senior Traction Power Supply Engineer – Hybrid

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Traction Power Supply Engineer to join Sener’s Rail & Metro team in Dubai. The role is hybrid and involves leading the design and technical delivery of railway traction and power supply systems for complex transportation projects in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and technical delivery of traction and railway power supply systems from concept to IFC stages.
• Develop and review designs, specifications, calculations, reports, drawings, equipment schedules and engineering documentation.
• Design traction power architectures including distribution, substations, feeder systems, return circuits, protection and earthing.
• Perform load assessments, load‑flow, voltage‑drop, short‑circuit and protection‑coordination studies.
• Coordinate designs with rolling stock, signaling, train control, SCADA, telecommunications, civil, track, MEP and other disciplines.
• Manage interfaces with railway systems and wider electrical infrastructure.
• Lead multidisciplinary design reviews, technical workshops, constructability and value‑engineering activities.
• Provide technical support during installation, integration, testing and commissioning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
• 12–13 years of overall engineering experience, with at least 10 years in railway power systems.

Required skills

• Traction power supply design and architecture.
• Power distribution, traction substations, feeder and return circuits.
• Load flow, voltage‑drop, short‑circuit and protection‑coordination analysis.
• Engineering documentation, calculations and equipment scheduling.
• Interface coordination with rolling stock, signaling, SCADA, civil and other railway disciplines.
