Senior Vice President, Head of Restructuring & Quality Assurance

About the role

The position sits within the Corporate Workout area of First Abu Dhabi Bank and reports to the Head of the team. It combines restructuring, workout, recovery and quality‑assurance responsibilities to preserve value, protect the bank’s interests and ensure robust borrower management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end management of distressed and impaired exposures, from diagnosis through restructuring, settlement, enforcement or exit, aiming to maximise risk‑adjusted net recovery.
• Prepare and present credit, settlement and recovery proposals to committees, using NPV, time‑to‑recover, funding costs and legal considerations.
• Manage insolvency, receivership and liquidation matters across UAE, GCC and international jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with IFRS 9, ECL and CBUAE requirements.
• Own the internal Quality Assurance framework for Credit Risk, conducting thematic and case‑level reviews and driving regulator‑defensible remediation.
• Maintain CRD policies, procedures and delegated authorities, delivering accurate MIS, regulatory submissions and data‑driven insights.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CFA, FRM, CA or ACA.
• 25+ years of experience in a financial institution, with at least 15 years in core banking, credit, risk or restructuring across multiple credit cycles.
• Demonstrated expertise in distressed‑asset strategy, credit judgement, insolvency management and quality‑assurance processes.
