Senior Welding Engineer

About the role

The Senior Welding Engineer will lead welding engineering deliverables, drive development projects and provide metallurgical consultancy to fabrication and marine operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the Project Welding Execution Plan, defining weld procedures, qualification schedule and material requirements.
• Obtain review and approval of all project weld procedures from customers and certifying authorities.
• Coordinate R&D welding projects with the engineering and welding departments and manage test house activities for qualification coupons.
• Select electrodes based on physical, chemical and corrosion properties while considering weldability and cost.
• Mentor junior welding engineers, resolve metallurgical and quality issues, and support automatic/mechanized welding systems.

Required profile

• MS in Welding or related field; BS degree or IWE/EWE in Welding, Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of welding engineering or metallurgy experience in fabrication/construction.
• Welding inspection qualification preferred; TQM education preferred.
