Shari’a Compliance Officer – Abu Dhabi

About the role

The Shari’a Compliance Officer ensures that ADIB Group adheres to the Higher Shari’a Authority (HSA) standards, ISSC resolutions, and Central Bank of the UAE regulations. The role involves managing resolution dissemination, conducting gap assessments, and monitoring corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the team leader in supervising the Shari’a Regulatory Affairs unit and its members.
• Ensure timely dissemination, accurate recording, and translation of new HSA and ISSC resolutions.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date database of resolutions using the Governance, Risk and Control (GRC) system.
• Conduct comprehensive gap assessments, identify obligations, evaluate risks, and monitor implementation of action plans.
• Provide regular updates, prepare reports and dashboards, and support other Shari’a compliance functions as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Shari’a, Islamic banking or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Shari’a compliance, consultation or internal audit within Islamic banking.
• AAOIFI CSAA and/or CIPA certifications (or equivalent).
• Fluency in Arabic and English.

• Strong understanding of Islamic banking products and operations
• Proficiency in Arabic language
