Sheet Metal Certifying Technician

About the role

The Sheet Metal Certifying Technician will perform, oversee, and certify structural maintenance on airline and third‑party aircraft during line or base maintenance. The role ensures all repairs, modifications, installations, and inspections meet regulatory standards and airline procedures, maintaining airworthiness at all times.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, execute, and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks according to task cards, approved data, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee assigned technicians, ensuring work quality, providing guidance, and resolving technical issues.
• Review task cards with engineers/supervisors to confirm scope, documentation, priorities, and safety precautions.
• Conduct thorough inspections and defect rectification using approved maintenance data.
• Record actions, test results, defect rectification, and parts usage accurately in the Maintenance Information System.
• Maintain shop inventory readiness and compatibility with approved standards.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, and operational teams for seamless task handovers.
• Enforce safety regulations, maintenance procedures, and human‑factors principles throughout all activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Structural/Airframe) or equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience in fabrication activities, inspections, and detailed task documentation.
• Strong technical knowledge of aircraft airframe systems and repair techniques.
