Site Reliability Engineer III

About the role

onX is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer III to build and maintain the infrastructure that enables developers to ship reliably at scale. You will manage the infrastructure platform, deployment automation, and observability using infrastructure‑as‑code, impacting millions of outdoor enthusiasts.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, monitor and maintain highly available systems on GCP using Terraform, Kubernetes (GKE), CockroachDB and services such as Cloud SQL, Bigtable, Composer, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run.
• Maintain and extend a large Terraform codebase, automate manual processes, and drive incident response best practices.
• Develop integrations with monitoring tools like Google Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Checkly, and Rootly.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and collaborate on architectural decisions.

Required profile

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting production systems, with at least 3 years in SRE or similar roles.
• Strong interest and experience with Kubernetes, networking, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Ability to evaluate technologies based on stability, performance, and debuggability.
