About the role

GEMS Education seeks a Social Studies Teacher who embraces the school’s core values and delivers an up‑to‑date curriculum with strong subject knowledge. The role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons that motivate a diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver quality lessons tailored to different learning styles.
• Create and use appropriate teaching materials and classroom environments.
• Maintain records of curriculum plans, attendance, resources and assessments.
• Teach students according to individual needs, including ESL, low‑ability and gifted learners.
• Set, mark and assess student work, reporting progress regularly.
• Utilise media and technology effectively in the classroom.
• Promote student well‑being, provide guidance and manage behaviour.
• Communicate with external stakeholders such as Ministry of Education officials.
• Participate in CPD, appraisal and performance‑management processes.
• Collaborate with colleagues on teaching resources and co‑curricular programs.

Required profile

• Skilled teacher with a solid commitment to teaching and strong subject knowledge in Social Studies.
• Excellent communication abilities to build relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to follow school policies, codes of conduct and uphold cultural awareness.
