Software Architect

About the role

The client is building an industrial platform from their technology hub in Abu Dhabi, serving mining, energy and other industrial operations. They need an experienced Software Architect to own the end‑to‑end platform architecture as an individual contributor.

Key responsibilities

• Define target‑state architecture, standards and reusable patterns for on‑premise, cloud‑native and hybrid environments.
• Design streaming and ingestion layers for high‑frequency time‑series and event data, including telemetry, alarms and operational events.
• Architect integration with industrial systems such as devices, gateways, PLCs, SCADA, historians and enterprise applications.
• Design secure data pipelines for model hosting, vector databases and real‑time observability.
• Establish governance frameworks covering safety, data privacy, cost optimisation and compliance.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, AI and security teams and engage directly with customers and vendors.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience, with around 10 years at architect level.
• Hands‑on engineering background with strong .NET and microservices foundations.
• Proven experience in industrial domains such as mining, metals, oil & gas, manufacturing or automation.
• Evidence of owning a complete platform architecture rather than a single component.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or related field.
