Soil Technician

About the role

Figlmueller is looking for a qualified and experienced Soil Technician to join its engineering team in Sharjah. The role covers soil testing and geotechnical field investigations, including sample collection, field and laboratory testing and the preparation of technical reports.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct soil testing and geotechnical investigations in line with relevant standards and project requirements.
• Collect, label, handle and transport soil samples from construction sites for testing and analysis.
• Perform field and laboratory soil tests as required.
• Inspect and monitor soil conditions and site activities during ongoing projects.
• Operate and maintain soil testing equipment and ensure accurate test results.
• Record test data, analyse results and prepare clear and accurate technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with testing procedures, quality standards and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers and site teams on soil testing activities and findings.
• Maintain documentation of test results, sampling records and site observations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of practical experience in soil testing and geotechnical fieldwork.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to work on construction sites as required.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of soil sampling procedures and field and laboratory testing methods.
• Familiarity with soil testing equipment and relevant testing standards.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and keep accurate testing records.
• Attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
