Solution Architect - Cards & Digital Payments (Remote)

About the role

This is a remote, client-facing pre-sales role reporting to the Head of Solutions / Relationship Management. You will be the solution design lead for card issuing and processing clients, turning client business requirement documents into a solution design, a Document of Understanding (DOU), a scope document or statement of work, and cost and effort estimates. You work with Relationship Managers in pre-sales, and with Product and System Owners and vendors, and act as the client's voice from design through to handover to delivery. You must be able to overlap with UAE business hours (GST, UTC+4); this is not a project manager role.

Key responsibilities

• Turn client BRDs into a solution design, DOU, scope document and cost/effort estimates.
• Work with Relationship Managers in pre-sales and with product owners, system owners and vendors to build solutions.
• Act as the client's voice from design through to handover to delivery.
• Estimate effort and cost and build commercial solution proposals.

Required profile

• 8+ years in card payments at an issuer/bank, card processor, scheme or card platform vendor.
• Proven solution design or pre-sales experience, with your own DOUs, SOWs, solution documents or RFP responses.
• Prior business analyst experience in cards or payments.
• Bachelor's degree; an MBA is a plus.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, and excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• End-to-end card journey knowledge: issuing (credit, debit, prepaid), authorisation flows, ISO 8583, clearing and settlement, disputes and chargebacks.
• Digital scheme and wallet initiatives: tokenisation (VTS / MDES), Apple Pay / Google Pay / Samsung Pay provisioning, 3DS 2.x, Click to Pay.
• At least one card management or processing platform, such as Way4 (OpenWay), TSYS PRIME, Fiserv VisionPlus, HPS PowerCard, BPC SmartVista, CardPro, Euronet or Compass Plus.
