Sommelier – Steakhouse (Full‑Time)

About the role

Wynn Al Marjan Island is seeking a Sommelier for its upcoming steakhouse. The role involves delivering expert wine service, supporting beverage inventory, and enhancing guest experiences in a luxury hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, communicate their needs to the team, and participate in pre‑shift meetings.
• Maintain complete knowledge of food menu items, allergens, and beverage offerings, including wine, beer, and cocktails.
• Conduct wine service, inventory checks, and update bin labels as wines are moved.
• Monitor pour levels, ensure proper storage, and minimize waste.
• Train staff on wine presentation, service techniques, and beverage knowledge.
• Lead occasional wine‑related classes and tastings for guests and team members.

Required profile

• Minimum age 21, complying with UAE alcohol service regulations.
• 1–2 years of wine service experience in fine‑dining or luxury hospitality.
• Basic sommelier certification (e.g., WSET Level 2) preferred.
• Ability to assist with wine list presentation, inventory control, and cellar maintenance.
• Familiarity with POS systems and handling cash or card transactions.
• Understanding of hygiene, food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and responsible beverage service.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
• Flexible to work shifts based on business needs.

Required skills

• WSET Level 2 certification (or equivalent).
• Proficiency with POS systems.
