Special Cargo Operations Professional – Dubai

About the role

The Special Cargo Operations Professional supports and coordinates specialized cargo movements across UAE ports, ensuring safe on‑site execution, compliance with ports and customs procedures, and effective handling of dangerous goods and claims.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UAE ports, customs processes and dangerous goods regulations, and communicate changes to relevant teams.
• Obtain prior permissions from local authorities for special cargo handling and coordinate deliveries with import/export customer service teams.
• Monitor DPA/EHS and port procedures, relay regulatory updates to head office and ports of loading.
• Report incidents, manage claims, liaise with surveyors and consolidate recovery costs.
• Coordinate with CFS for container reworking, inspections and documentation for general and perishable cargo.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of relevant industry experience in logistics or cargo operations.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end logistics processes and UAE port/terminal operations.
• Exposure to dangerous goods, special cargo, claims handling or CFS activities.
• Arabic language capability is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IMDG Codes and related local regulations.
• Familiarity with DPA/EHS processes.
• Experience in claims handling and cost recovery.
