Specialist Cathodic Protection Engineer

About the role

The Specialist Cathodic Protection Engineer will lead all technical aspects of the Cathodic Protection (CP) system throughout the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phase for offshore projects. Working closely with the Project Execution Team and Integrity Project specialists, the role ensures CP design, installation, testing and handover meet project specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure CP systems are properly designed, installed, tested and commissioned in line with project requirements and integrity standards.
• Coordinate with the project execution team, contractors and CP subcontractors to align CP activities with the overall schedule.
• Review and approve all CP vendor deliverables, including design documents, material datasheets, FAT, construction documentation and commissioning procedures.
• Participate in pre‑design site surveys and represent the company during FAT and SAT for critical CP equipment.
• Provide technical solutions for design changes, site issues or unexpected corrosion challenges and supervise critical installation phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Corrosion Science, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline (minimum 4 years of study).
• At least 15 years of experience in Cathodic Protection systems within the oil & gas industry.
• Minimum 10 years in a senior engineering role acting as Technical Authority for CP projects.
• AMPP NACE Level III certification or equivalent.
• Full knowledge of AMPP, ISO and DNV standards for CP systems.
