Specialist – Drilling Engineering (Fluids)

About the role

ADNOC Group is seeking a Specialist in Drilling Engineering – Fluids to join its Abu Dhabi team. You will be responsible for preparing and optimizing drilling programs, applying innovative techniques, and ensuring safe, efficient operations across a range of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and optimise drilling programs and fluid plans.
• Develop and implement innovative drilling techniques and technologies.
• Analyse drilling data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolve operational challenges during drilling.
• Review casing design, material selection and advise on well suspension and abandonment.
• Prepare blow‑out contingency plans and hazard identification strategies.
• Analyse subsurface pressures, borehole stability and rock‑mechanics considerations.
• Design and supervise cementing operations for well integrity.
• Oversee directional drilling and anticollision strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in drilling engineering or related roles.
• Well‑Control certification (IWCF or IADC) – required.
• Additional drilling‑operations certifications – preferred.
