Specialist HSE Projects Engineer – Offshore Water Injection

About the role

The Specialist HSE (Projects) Engineer provides leadership, oversight and technical expertise in health, safety and environmental management for the offshore water injection project. The role ensures compliance with company policies, local regulations and international standards throughout engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and start‑up phases, while fostering a proactive safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HSE leadership and guidance to project management, engineering, construction and contractor teams.
• Develop, implement and maintain the Project HSE Management Plan and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and client requirements.
• Facilitate and participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS reviews, risk assessments, JHA/JSA and environmental impact assessments.
• Monitor construction, offshore installation and marine operations to ensure safe execution of lifting, rigging, confined space entry, hot work and diving activities.
• Evaluate contractor HSE plans, conduct audits, track performance metrics and enforce corrective actions.
• Support environmental management, waste handling, spill prevention and permit compliance.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and emergency response planning.
• Ensure HSE readiness during commissioning, start‑up and system handover activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH International Diploma, CSP, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor).
• 10–15 years of HSE experience in the oil & gas or energy sector.
• 5–7 years supporting major offshore EPC projects, preferably water injection projects.
• Experience with offshore platforms, brownfield/greenfield developments and offshore construction.
• Proven ability to work with international EPC contractors and offshore operators.
• Prior experience on Middle‑East offshore projects is highly preferred.
