Specialist - Internal Shariah Control

About the role

First Abu Dhabi Bank is seeking a Specialist in Internal Shariah Control to support the Head of Shariah Compliance & International. The role ensures that the bank’s Islamic banking activities across the FAB Group and its international/off‑shore branches comply with Shariah rules and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor implementation of resolutions from the Higher Shariah Authority, Central Bank of UAE, and Internal Shariah Supervision Committee across all locations.
• Plan and execute Shariah compliance programmes, including framework development, training, gap analysis, reviews and incident management.
• Provide day‑to‑day Shariah advice to product, business and support functions and act as the main liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct Shariah compliance training and support regular assessments of compliance levels.
• Assist the Head of Shariah Compliance in reporting updates, risk management and integration of Shariah initiatives into the broader compliance framework.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Shariah, Islamic Finance, Islamic Banking, Business Administration, Law or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in Shariah roles within a reputable bank or financial institution, with solid knowledge of AAOIFI standards and UAE Shariah regulations.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
