Specialist Planning & Cost Engineer – Offshore Water Injection Project

About the role

The Specialist Planning & Cost Engineer will support an offshore water injection project, ensuring schedules and budgets are accurately managed from engineering through start‑up. The role is based in Abu Dhabi with a 6‑weeks‑on/3‑weeks‑off offshore rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Establish work breakdown structures and baseline schedules covering engineering to start‑up.
• Monitor schedule progress, identify critical paths and produce weekly/monthly reports.
• Develop cost control systems, monitor budgets, perform variance analysis and forecast EAC/ETC.
• Implement earned‑value measurement, generate SPI, CPI and S‑curve reports.
• Participate in risk assessments, manage change impacts on schedule and cost.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field.
• 15‑18 years of project planning and cost control experience in oil & gas, with at least 5 years on offshore water injection or similar EPC projects.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑SP, PSP or CCP are preferred.
• Experience with major international operators and EPC contractors.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Cost engineering and forecasting expertise.
• Experience with ERP/project control systems (SAP, Oracle, Ecosys).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel reporting skills.
