Specialist Process Engineer - Offshore Water Injection

About the role

KBR's Abu Dhabi PMC team is hiring a Specialist Process Engineer for an offshore project, based in Abu Dhabi within the EPC contractor's office. The engineer provides advanced process engineering expertise for the design, modification, integration and commissioning of offshore water injection facilities, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient design and operation while supporting brownfield modifications and meeting client specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process engineering for offshore water injection systems and facilities, including PFDs, P&IDs, process design basis and engineering calculations
• Perform hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, process simulations and system performance evaluations, and support process optimization and debottlenecking studies
• Take part in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA and other process safety studies, and support Management of Change for brownfield modifications
• Coordinate with mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical and operations teams through detailed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, and review vendor documents
• Support brownfield engineering, tie-in engineering, shutdown planning and offshore site surveys
• Develop commissioning procedures and support pre-commissioning, startup and performance testing, and troubleshoot process upsets

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering; Master's degree is an added advantage
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional registration preferred
• 15-18 years of process engineering experience in oil and gas projects
• Minimum 5 years in offshore brownfield projects, with strong experience in water injection and produced water systems
• Proven involvement in FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, commissioning and start-up phases
• ADNOC Offshore or Middle East project experience highly preferred
