Sr. Accountant - Construction

About the role

The Senior Accountant – Construction will manage and maintain accurate financial records for construction projects, supporting month‑end and year‑end closing, and ensuring compliance with UAE accounting and tax regulations. The role works closely with Project Management, Procurement, Commercial, Contracts, HR and Operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger, record journal entries, accruals, provisions and perform reconciliations.
• Monitor project revenues, costs, work‑in‑progress and allocate expenses to appropriate cost centres.
• Coordinate project billing, variations, claims and certifications with commercial teams.
• Review and process supplier and subcontractor invoices, verify retention, advances and contractual deductions.
• Manage customer invoicing, monitor receivables and support revenue recognition.
• Prepare financial reports, assist with month‑end and year‑end closing and ensure proper documentation.

Required profile

• At least 5 years (60 months) of experience in construction accounting or related finance roles.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT and local accounting standards.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and handle multiple project accounts.
