Staff Nurse – Emergency Department

About the role

The Emergency Department is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care to patients of all ages. You will work directly with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to assess needs, develop care plans, and ensure safe, compassionate treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform timely patient admissions, comprehensive assessments, and ongoing updates to individualized care plans.
• Provide direct bedside care, administer medications using barcode scanning, and execute prescribed treatments according to hospital policies.
• Supervise Practical Nurses, delegate appropriate tasks, and collaborate with physicians and other health‑care professionals.
• Document patient conditions, monitor outcomes, and educate patients and families while respecting cultural and psychosocial considerations.
• Complete charge capture and in‑service training within the Epic system, ensuring accurate billing within 24 business hours.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with current registration.
• Experience in emergency or acute care settings, demonstrating competency in patient assessment and care planning.
• Strong understanding of evidence‑based practice, patient safety principles, and confidentiality standards.
• Ability to lead a caregiver team, communicate effectively across disciplines, and uphold a patient‑first philosophy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system.
• Barcode scanning for medication administration.
• Charge capture and billing documentation.
